Who are we? What do we do?

Mission Green is a non-profit organisation recognised by HMRC for charitable purposes. Our mission is to reduce landfill waste, promote reuse, and support communities through sustainable furniture redistribution.

Public Benefit

Mission Green provides community benefit by:

  • redistributing donated furniture to low-income households

  • helping community organisations and charities furnish their spaces

  • reducing landfill waste and promoting a circular economy

Mission Green aims to help the public, community, and private sector in making conscious decisions that help reduce carbon footprint and help with saving the planet and the climate for the future generations.

Mission Green does this through campaigning via emails and training people to better understand the issues. We seek to spare office furniture from entering landfills by creating outlets, blogging, and working with environmental organizations.

We aim to create new recycling measures that are effective and raise awareness regarding re-use in the United Kingdom and developing countries.

Get Involved

Volunteering
Mission Green is always searching for people who want to help us at our furniture outlets. Most of our PR is done through the web and media, and we always need people who might want to pass their knowledge to the local schools, councils, and companies.
We need people who drive, host talks at their faith groups or schools or wish to raise awareness to minimize carbon emissions.

We train volunteers in these key areas to help them gain the necessary experience and start working on the field.

Mission India

See below, the Mission Green volunteers cleaning up a slum area in Visakhapatnam, India. Our aim was not only to provide a service to the area by cleaning up the streets, but also to create a platform for educating those that live there. We partnered with a local church, and many volunteers from the area itself came forward to help us with the clean up. There was a lot of interest from passers by, and we were able to educate the volunteers and those around about how to segregate their waste and how best to dispose of it. It’s a very small drop in the ocean, with India being one of the most overcrowded and polluted countries in the world, but we hope with that with the buzz that was created, for the information to spread throughout the area. We aim to keep in contact with the volunteers and assess the progress.
